We'll have to wait and see if Activision is cutting multiplayer, if the rumors of the remaster's existence are proven to be true. The developer has apparently been hiring over the last few months, with job listings stating that the studio is “currently dedicated to the development of the Call of Duty franchise.” The first Modern Warfare remaster featured both the single player campaign as well as a multiplayer mode that had 10 maps available at launch.
It's possible Beenox, who helped develop the single player campaign for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered, could be working on the Modern Warfare 2 Remaster, according to the outlet.
The materials Charlie Intel received also suggested Raven Software, who developed the original game, won't be handling the remaster. As Charlie Intel points out, the listing on Amazon Italy is priced at $25, and contrasted with the price of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's remaster of $40, it would make sense the game offers only a single player campaign at that price point.
